(Paul)
“Paul said to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. When i
die i will go directly to be with Jesus.”
(Cristoiglesia) That
is correct. If one is truly in Christ they will be in heaven in a timeless
manner which probably will include purgation before entering heaven and the
presence of God.
(Paul)
“Purgatory is only for you Catholics.”
(Cristoiglesia) No
everyone must be saved in the same manner. Everyone that is saved is finally in
God’s will that we all be one in His Church, the Catholic Church made up of the
Church on earth called the Church militant which are those of the faithful on
earth, those of the Church suffering who are being purified
as precious metal so that not even the dross of sin remains and the Church
Triumphant who are one with God in His presence.
(Paul)
“It does not matter what the Catholic Church says or teaches because the Bible
has more authority then the Catholic Church.”
(Cristoiglesia) Our
Lord after his resurrection and before He ascended to heaven called together
the disciples on a hill in Galilee and told them to teach all nations. Christ
instructed them to teach all the doctrines, commandments and laws that He had
taught to them. It is significant to note that these instructions are not
constricted by the lifetimes of the disciples but was to be taught for all
times which would be completed at the Parousia. This meant that the disciples
were to have successors and that their oral teaching would be for all times
protected by Christ which extended to their successors. In this way Christ
assured that truth would be taught for all time to humanity. This was the great
commission.
To those deep in
Scriptures it seems quite odd that there are some who think that the disciples
fulfilled their commission given to all by writing Scriptures and that they
left no successors to continue the fullness of truth and the authority given by
Christ in that commission. If this was the intent of our Lord it is odd that
not all the disciples did what some suppose our Lord commanded which is to
write Scriptures. In fact, only five disciples continued their teaching by writing
Scripture. To those who believe that it is the Scriptures that continue the
great commission then it is difficult to ignore that less than half of the
disciples followed Christ’s commission. The disciple Matthew wrote a Gospel.
John wrote a Gospel and three epistles. Peter wrote two epistles and James and
Jude wrote one apiece. If the written Word was so important in Christ’s
structure of the Church then it would be logical that there would be at least
one epistle from Jesus; perhaps in which He would instruct us to give the
written Word His only authority and not the 12 disciples as was His
instructions in the great commission. But of course, it was obviously not His
intent for His teaching to be spread only from written means but instead
through the solid foundation He had built on which the disciples would continue
to build with their successors which passed on the chrism from Christ through
the disciples and their successors which has resulted in infallible truth for
all times.
Another oddity for those
who believe only in the written Word is why the Church founded by Christ
existed for only a half century as a teaching Church and then is replaced by
inspired books alone?
With changing
circumstances it would seem reasonable that there be someone or some authority
that can apply the apostolic teaching to the change of circumstances lest there
be chaotic frustration instead of the application of truth. Take for example
the doctrines; these doctrines may be studied with an almost equal danger of
error as truth if there is no infallible teacher. An infallible authority would
not restrict an enlightened development of truth for those who are seeking the
question of what Christ meant in His teaching. Without it there is great
possibility and indeed a certainty of error because there is not a word of
Christ’s teaching that has not been subject to diverse interpretations. Many of
these interpretations are compelling either by their scholarship or their
application but are in contradiction of one another. Consequently the following
question is illustrated by these facts; how are we to know the truth as these
words surly are not enough for the truth to be known? Therefore it is necessary
to have an infallible teacher to separate the diversity of opinions into the
truth of Christ’s teaching. There must be revelation to satisfy the seeking
soul instead of a growing set of diverse opinions and confusion. So, there must
be an infallible teacher with the authority from Christ and of Christ as were
the disciples for the truth to be known. The question is to those following
Sola Scripture is whether the truth is essential or does it remain forever
elusive depending on individual interpretation?
I believe the
Scriptures demonstrate just how essential Jesus believed the truth to be.
Before His death He gave certain men the authority to teach. He sent out the 72
disciples to teach with His authority. He said to them as well as the original
12, “He that hears you, hears me” which illustrates a transfer of the teaching
by oral means to the Church across time to ensure the truth to all generations.
It is through the oral teaching that the truth is found by the authority of
Christ for truth. That truth is contained within the leadership of the Church
and is today the Magisterium which is made up of the successors of those
original disciples continuing the chrism given to them by Christ.
(Paul)
“What God says in the Bible has more authority than the teachings of your
Church.”
(Cristoiglesia) The
Bible only has that authority that was given to it by the Church in the late 4th
and early 5th centuries after the African Synods ratified the Canon list
of Pope Damasus. The order of authority for Christians is Jesus, His Church and
then the Bible with the Church as the infallible teacher of the Christian faith
and the infallible teaching authority in interpreting the Bible.
(Paul)
“Repent before its too late. You still have time to receive Salvation.”
(Cristoiglesia) I
repent daily of my sins. Here is how St. Paul explains the process of salvation:
"As the Bible
says, I am already saved:
Romans 8:24 (KJV)
24 For we are saved
by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he
yet hope for?
Ephesians 2:5-8 (KJV)
5 Even when we were
dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us
up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to
come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us
through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye
saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
but I’m also being
saved:
1 Corinthians 1:18 (KJV)
18 For the preaching
of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it
is the power of God.
2 Corinthians 2:15 (KJV)
15 For we are unto
God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
Philippians 2:12 (KJV)
12 Wherefore, my
beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much
more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
I have hope for
salvation:
Romans 5:9-10 (KJV)
9 Much more then,
being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we
were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more,
being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
1 Corinthians 3:12-15
(KJV)
12 Now if any man
build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work
shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be
revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work
abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work
shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as
by fire.
Like the apostle Paul
I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful
confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11–13)."
Letter

(Paul)
“Romans 10:9-
if
you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God
raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person
believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses,
resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him
will not be disappointed.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and
Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call
on Him; 13 for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
God
clearly says if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your
heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
God
also clearly says Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
(Cristoiglesia) Christ died so that
everyone’s sins may be forgiven but the Bible teaches that there can be a false
assurance of salvation. Here is what Jesus said:
Matthew 7:21 (KJV)
21Not every one that
saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that
doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
St. Paul questioned
his own salvation on several occasions when he spoke of his walk in faith as a
race where one who is successful wins heaven. Then St. Paul says the following:
1 Corinthians 9:27 (KJV)
27But I keep under my
body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have
preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Now, let us look at
what St. Paul taught to those who were already saved or had already come to
initial salvation:
2 Corinthians 5:10 (KJV
)
10For we must all
appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the
things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or
bad.
Romans 2:6 (KJV)
6Who will render to
every man according to his deeds:
Romans 11:22 (KJV)
22Behold therefore
the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward
thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be
cut off.
This is the teaching
of the inspired Word of God and not the teaching of John Calvin that you place
above God’s Word. We are not judged only by the one act of coming to faith and
accepting Jesus as our personal savior but instead how we respond to His grace
through our life. There is no doubt that we are saved by faith and this has
been the constant teaching of the Church through its entire history. Where the
Protestants depart from orthodoxy and the Bible is when they claim that we are
saved by faith alone. Such an assumption is clearly forbidden in Scriptures.
(Paul)
“God say nothing about the "state of your soul at death". God says
all those who calls on His name will receive Salvation.
This
is why i tell you to receive Salvation before its too late because if you
believe you will receive Salvation after you die then you will never receive
Salvation! What you teach is a lie from Satan.
Ephesians
2:8,9
For
by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is
the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
We
HAVE been saved by Faith. We already have received Salvation. But unfortunately
for you, you have rejected Salvation for the lies of the Catholic Church.”
(Cristoiglesia) There
are no exceptions and everyone is saved in the same plan of salvation put into
action by Christ’s salvific work on the cross.
In the Bible it tells
us that Nicodemus asked Jesus what must be done to be saved. Jesus said the
following:
John 3:5 (King James
Version)
5Jesus answered,
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the
Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Now, if you are a
convicted follower of Calvin you would say that the water is of no benefit
which is another departure from orthodoxy as the orthodox Christian view is
that both the water and the Holy Spirit are joined As one in the Sacrament of
Baptism established by our Lord. It is not just the conviction from the Holy
Spirit that is necessary but the water as well. You would say that the water is
unnecessary but Jesus did not teach that the Holy Spirit alone is what is
necessary for salvation but that the two are joined as one. His teaching does
not say that an intellectual assent is all that is necessary but that the water
is equally necessary.
Now, as a true
Calvinist you probably believe that there is no act that can assist your
salvation and that your acceptance of Christ is all that is needed. Let us look
at St. Paul’s letter to the Romans:
Romans 5:2 (King
James Version)
2By whom also we have
access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the
glory of God.
Now, if Calvin was
right and that by our one assent to faith we are assured of salvation then why
is St. Paul saying that we “rejoice in hope” for glory if nothing can separate
us from heaven.
St. Paul explains his
meaning here:
Romans 8:24 (King
James Version)
24For we are saved by
hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet
hope for?
The reason we have
hope is because even though we are in the Spirit we know that there is a chance
that we may lose it through mortal sin.
So, the Catholic
would respond to a Calvinist asking if they are saved by answering, "I am
redeemed by the blood of Christ and as St. Paul taught I am working out my
salvation with fear and trembling with hopeful confidence, lacking false
assurance as the Church has taught from the beginning of the Church at
Pentecost.

(Paul)
“We receive Salvation while we are still alive. Unfortunately you have been
deceived by Satan into believing you receive Salvation after you die.”
(Cristoiglesia) I
said my salvation is not complete until death and judgment and that it is a
process and not a one time event. I am being sanctified by His grace and I
cooperate with that grace by confession of my sins and reconciling back into
the familial relationship with Him when I fail by the seduction of temptation.
To Catholic
Christians and many other Christians, justification is understood differently.
We understand from Scriptures that justification is not the covering of sin but
the eradication and the beginning of true sanctification and simultaneous
renewal. The soul is transformed into goodness instead of being a sinful soul
with sins covered by Christ’s blood. We see Scriptures saying that forgiveness
results in a complete removal of sins. The only time the Bible mentions the
covering of sin is in the context of one man’s sin being forgiven by another.
One should note that we have no power to forgive another’s sin, therefore the
context is that we do all we can and cover or overlook those sins against us.
In relation to God and His removal of sin the Scriptures use quite different
terminology such as “blot out”, “blotting out”, “clears away” and “takes away”.
Catholics see
justification as a rebirth and supernatural life in a former sinner:
(Joh 3:5 DRB) Jesus
answered: Amen, amen, I say to thee, unless a man be born again of water and
the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
(Tit 3:5 DRB) Not by
the works of justice which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved
us, by the laver of regeneration and renovation of the Holy Ghost.
That creates an inner
renewal of the soul:
(Eph 4:23 DRB) And be
renewed in spirit of your mind:
Resulting in complete
sanctification:
(1Co 6:11 DRB) And
such some of you were. But you are washed: but you are sanctified: but you are
justified: in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Spirit of our God.
Through this glorious
process initiated by God’s grace the soul becomes beautiful, holy and worthy of
heaven where nothing unclean is allowed. It is not an ugly sinful soul hidden
under the blood of Jesus but instead one sanctified by Him and created anew for
His glory.
(Paul)
“By your standards no catholic will ever receive Salvation and no Catholic will
ever enter into Heaven.
TITUS
3:5
He
saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but
according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy
Spirit
The
minute you call on the Lord is when you receive Salvation, not after you die.
Read
the Bible please before its too late and you die in your sins. After you die
you cannot receive Salvation and you are doomed to eternity in Hell.”
(Cristoiglesia) Some
say that justification is a legal act of God in which He declares the sinner to
be worthy of heaven even though he continues to be a sinful creature. In this
view of justification there is no internal renewal or real sanctification
whether instant or through a lifelong process but simply an external
application of the justice of Christ.
To Catholic
Christians and many other Christians, justification is understood differently.
We understand from Scriptures that justification is not the covering of sin but
the eradication and the beginning of true sanctification and simultaneous
renewal. The soul is transformed into goodness instead of being a sinful soul

“Like it or not Salvation is received the minute we call on the Lord. You may
not believe it but this is what God teaches. This is not from Calvin this is
directly from God.”
(Cristoiglesia) No,
as I have already proven from Scripture this is not what Jesus, the Church or
the Bible teaches.
(Paul)
“Its interesting that you are trying to blend the teachings of Satan with the teachings
of God. You then have to wonder if you really are a Born Again Christian.
1
John 4:1
Beloved,
do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from
God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
You
are what John calls a false prophet. You teach the lies of Satan as truths from
God. This is nothing new.
What
you fail to understand is your eternal soul is at risk. Salvation is the most
important doctrine ever for without Salvation you can never enter into Heaven.
You
do realize if you die without receiving Salvation you will never enter into
Heaven? Is your pride worth more to you than eternal life in Heaven?”
(Cristoiglesia)
Before you make empty accusations you should make a case for your accusations.
You call me a false prophet and the only reason you call me this is because I
am refuting your false claims with biblical evidence that has been scholarly
discerned using proper hermeneutical principals and taking into account the
context of biblical statements so that there can be no contradictory evidence
to refute my teaching. You make no such effort but instead use an eisegetical
methodology that has resulted in you making the great errors of omission of the
contradictory evidence that refutes your understanding.
So I ask you, should
a reasonable person accept the teaching that is scholarly discerned or instead
accept the teaching that creates contradictions within the context of
Scriptures as you have done?
(John)”
1 John 4:15
15
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in
God.
How
can a non believer have God in him? Only those who have Salvation can have God
in them.
Receive
Salvation before its too late. Put your pride aside and listen to what the Holy
Spirit says in the Bible.”
(Cristoiglesia) Many
people seem to think that all they have to do is in a moment of emotion and/or
reason ascent to recognition of Christ being their savior and their salvation
to eternal life is assured. From that point forward it makes no difference that
their life is changed and they will live differently. The only thing that has
changed is that evil in their lives as displayed outwardly and lived inwardly
no longer has an effect on their eternity as their one act of acceptance has
made them immune to the actions of their sins at judgment and obligated God to
accept them into His presence. Some will go so far as to say that one's
sinfulness and evil has nothing to do with the value of their souls before God
because even the most evil, sinful soul is covered rather than purified by
Christ's atonement. It would appear that these people are saying that Christ's
atonement is a method or sinister plan to allow sin in the presence of God
draped in a covering of righteousness to conceal the evil within and that
salvation is assured regardless of the state of their souls.
The question comes
immediately to mind, how one can come to such conclusions considering the
context of the body of Scriptures that contradict such a notion. I believe that
it all comes down to one verse which is unique in all of Scripture that depicts
Christ as a personal savior dependent on one’s inner conviction. All other
Scriptures depict only salvation through the Church saying that He died for us,
meaning the Church. St. Paul certainly taught this as he practiced seeking
salvation through Christ's Church.
Here is the Scripture
which through the eisegesis of some causes misunderstanding:
(Gal 2:20 DRB) And I
live, now not I: but Christ liveth in me. And that I live now in the flesh: I
live in the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and delivered himself for me.
Some take this verse
to mean that one need only repent and turn to God with the heart of a little
child and their salvation is assured.
(Joh 3:3 DRB) Jesus
answered and said to him: Amen, amen, I say to thee, unless a man be born
again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Catholics see
salvation quite differently than those who think that covering one’s sins is
enough to enter the presence of God. We recognize that Christ has redeemed us
on the cross and unlocked the gates of heaven and that redemption is not the
same as salvation but instead a prelude to salvation. In order for us to
receive salvation we must cooperate by being spiritually alive. Our soul cannot
be in a natural state when we die to receive salvation and no covering of its
sinfulness will be enough to hide what is beneath, a soul without the
sanctifying grace cannot enter heaven. If, at death, the soul is sanctified
then there is no doubt of heaven even if that soul needs to go to the
purification of purgatory. Only souls that are indeed good and pleasing to God
by being full of His sanctifying grace will merit heaven. It is the state of
the soul at death that merits heaven and this fact emphasizes why we need God’s
ongoing grace in our lives to persevere to the end.
(Paul)

(Paul)
“ Its because of people like you that gives a bad name to the Children of God.
You need to follow the Truths in the Bible

Letter 5
(Cristoiglesia) Jesus
never gave any authority to written Scripture but instead to His Church who in
turn wrote Scripture to be interpreted within His Church under the authority
given by Him. St. Paul confirms this authority of the Church through apostolic
succession when He instructed to hold fast what was taught by Word (oral) and
letter (written). The Church does not have the authority to relinquish that
which God has given regardless of the burden of protecting the Church. The
Scriptures promise that this Church is the “bulwark and ground of the truth”
and that promise will forever remain true.
The
Church was also given the authority to come to clearer understanding of the
truth in the living Church but such understanding should not take away from the
teaching of the apostles but illuminate it. The authority given to the Church
is great Jesus saying that the Church has the authority to bind and loose and
again the Church is powerless to abdicate this divine responsibility. Some may
say the Scriptures are true because of the truth they reveal in prophetic
testimony and I say that the Church is true because of its testimony as an
enduring Church for 2000 years just as Christ promised. The only high court of
appeal is our founder, high priest and Savior Jesus the Christ who has never
failed His Church, this relationship no book can supplant for it is through Him
that the Church derives its holiness and its veracity and its immortality.
One
cannot deny that the foundation of all Christianity through His Church is based
on Christ’s words to St. Peter before the disciples. There is no doubt from the
construction vernacular that Jesus was instructing them to build a Church with
them as the foundation stones and Himself as the cornerstone. He built no other
Church as no other was needed because the One, Holy, Apostolic, Catholic,
Church derives its perfection from Him through His promises. He prayed that we
all be one within this Church. He said this Church would endure until the
Parousia. He said of this Church that the gates of hell would not prevail
against it. He said that He would be with this Church until the end of time.
The Scriptures confirms these promises saying that this Church is the “pillar
and ground of the truth”. He did not plan for the Church to be without
leadership after the apostles died but provided that they choose successors to
replace them in the enduring Church. This is confirmed it the book of Acts.
One can
suggest that this Church is not the Church that Christ gave these promises and
authority to but who else can support a claim that they are the true church
represented by these promises if not the Catholic church. Some will suggest
that the true church is the Gnostics or the Arians? Certainly remnants of those
churches remain in modern incarnations of these heresies but can one claim the
enduring characteristic promised by Christ? There is certainly no evidence that
anyone can make a legitimate claim to Christ’s promises other than the Catholic
Church. Some critics may claim that the reason that the Catholic Church has
endured is because of political connections, but the truth is that it has
endured because of the miracles of our Lord who persuaded a Pagan emperor to stop
his persecution of the Church and not by some agreement of men. It is hard to
persuade someone who is intent on your annihilation. Only God could convict the
heart of the Pagan Emperor Constantine.
I would
agree that there have always been those believers known to God who will be
saved and I agree but I do not agree that those people are outside of His
Church nor do I believe that it is possible for salvation without His Church
but that it is possible only through his Church, Although I acknowledge, as
does the Church, that this union may be imperfect, as with our separated
brethren with different degrees of the fullness of truth which is perfected in
His Church. All believers are taught by God through His Church.
While
St. Paul spoke about the great apostasy, is it possible that he was speaking of
the apostasy of the enduring Church that He created. Would not that apostate
element be more described in the churches proceeding from the Reformation? Does
the Bible not teach that we will know them by their fruits? It does and what
are the fruits of the Reformation.
Reducing
the Word of God to a book and confusing the truth with tens of thousands of
exponentially increasing schisms in the dilution of the truth. Did not Christ
pray that we all be one in His Church?
By
forbidding the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ from Protestant
worship.
Reducing
salvation to a one time assent to faith and then teaching antinomianism.
Rejecting
the authority Christ established.
These
are just a few of the signs of a church in apostasy as represented by the
Protestant churches. Could there be a better example of decay and perversion.
We can
all agree as Christians that only God knows who are His faithful but do not let
us confuse the facts of His teaching that we are to be one in the Church that
He created. There is the Church that is gathered around the Bishop as the early
Church is described by St. Ignatius and then there is the Church known only to
God made up of those whose heart is pure in their love and devotion to God. But
regardless they all will be saved by that which is promised to endure which is
His Church. We can only pray that he will be merciful to the apostate and that
they find the truth before it is too late.
Letter
6
(Paul)
“The Church is the pillar of Truth. Not the Catholic Church. Its the body of
believers which is the True Church and has the pillar of Truth.
Unfortunately
the Catholic Church has lied to you and is deceiving the world into believing
it is the True Church.”
(Cristoiglesia) Let
us look at the teaching of our Lord about His Church. Using construction
vernacular He said that He was the King, High Priest, and Cornerstone of the
Church. The beginning of a firm/solid/ foundation is always the cornerstone
which holds together the elements of the construction.
He appointed St.
Peter as the prime minister of the Church fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah
that the Messiah would ordain an enduring office of prime minister and that
that prime minister would be given the keys to the kingdom. This is exactly
what He did when appointing St. Peter. The keys represented his office and the
authority of that office which was to have the power of the king in ministering
to the kingdom and the authority to teach and proclaim the will of the king.
(Isa 22:20-25)
The disciples are
called the 12 foundation stones (Rev 21:14) of the Church continuing
illustrating the permanence of what God is building. It is not a foundation of
sand that is temporary but is of an enduring nature to last until the Parousia
and strong enough to withstand the tumultuous attacks of hell that would surely
attempt to prevail against the Church using every method of attack from within
and from without. Even the world would hate that which our Lord had built just
as it hated Him. This enduring leadership is the foundation of a Church that
can truly be called the "pillar and foundation of the truth" because
that which Christ has ordained shall never pass away or be absorbed into the
world but will for all time remain heavenly as the ark for humanity where all
may be saved just as the ark of Noah was the type for the Church which must
endure within the evil of the world to bring the faithful into the promised
land of heaven.
Last of all, the
Church stands as testimony to the veracity of Christ and His promises to
humanity. The Church is the fulfillment of Scriptures in its enduring quality
as well as it being that pillar or bulwark of truth in a world filled with
lies, temptation and sins that will murder souls to Christ and decrease the
harvest. Its unity in His will with faith and oneness of its mission to
proclaim the Gospel after 2000 years is a miracle in itself but also it
proclaims the divinity of our Lord where in His prophetic vision, competence of
His leadership as the builder of His Church and His promises of His Church
makes it truly a city on a hill that cannot be hid (Mat 5:14) frustrating its
detractors and more truly the "gates of hell".
(Paul)
“My Church i go to is not "man made", it follows Jesus Christ and
accepts the Bible as the absolute truth from God. Unfortunately the Catholics
Church has misinterpreted the Scriptures to say what it wants the Scriptures to
say not the Truth that God has said. You need to realize you have been deceived
by Satan and the Catholic Church to accept their lies about the Brothers in
Christ.”
(Cristoiglesia)
Unless you are a member of the Orthodox Church you attend a man-made sect that
is a counterfeit to the true Church. You can tell me the name and affiliation
of your sect I can name the founder of your sect and the year it was founded. 2000
years ago Jesus founded only one Church and that Church is the Catholic Church.
The Bible disagrees
that it is the authority for teaching and instead points to the Church as the
infallible teacher. Jesus gave the Holy Spirit to His Church to lead it to all
truths. He did this so that usurpers like your sect cannot claim to have the
fullness of truth or the authority to teach. In fact, all sects claiming
Christianity go against go against Jesus’ will when He prayed to the Father
that we be one in unity as He and the Father are one. Only the Catholic Church
represents this unity desired by Christ.
(Paul)
“Where in the Bible did God say the Catholic Church was the only True Church?”
(Cristoiglesia) Isn’t
it reasonable that if Jesus desired unity that it would be in the Church that
He founded and not those sects founded by men? The entire New Testament is
written about the Catholic Church and its relationship with Christ. Nowhere in
all of Scriptures is any other Church said to be in God’s favor or created by Jesus.
The Catholic Church is unique in having been ordained by Christ and is the only
Church said in Scriptures to be the “pillar and foundation of the truth”. Jesus
used construction vernacular to illustrate that He built the Church on a firm
foundation of rock that would endure for all times until He comes again. No man
made sect can claim to be the enduring Church that is spoken of in Scriptures.
(Paul)“
Where in the Bible did God give Peter the authority to be a Pope?”
(Cristoiglesia) (Mat
16:18 DRB) And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will
build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
It would seem that
some believe that Jesus was incompetent when building His church with Himself
as the cornerstone and the disciples as the foundation, and that it fell into
apostasy. Jesus built His Church upon rock with a foundation to last for all time.
Here is what Jesus answered to these claims
(Luk 6:47 DRB) Every
one that cometh to me and heareth my words and doth them, I will shew you to
whom he is like.
(Luk 6:48 DRB) He is
like to a man building a house, who digged deep and laid the foundation upon a
rock. And when a flood came, the stream beat vehemently upon that house: and it
could not shake it: for it was founded on a rock.
(Luk 6:49 DRB) But he
that heareth and doth not is like to a man building his house upon the earth
without a foundation: against which the stream beat vehemently. And immediately
it fell: and the ruin of that house was great.
(Paul)
“In fact not one of the Disciples were in charge. Read in the Bible where the
Disciples were arguing over who was the greatest Disciple.
Peter
was not in charge, in fact Paul had to put Peter down for the sins he was
committing.”
(Cristoiglesia) St.
Peter was always the final authority of the apostles. Are you trying to say that Jesus did not
fulfill all prophecy which would mean that He is not the true Lamb of God and
the Messiah?
Certainly in Matthew
16 Jesus is referring to the prophecy of Isaiah in Isaiah 22 and in doing so He
is fulfilling the prophetic imagery prophesied by the prophet Isaiah. The prime
minister referred to by Isaiah is a type for the appointment of St. Peter to be
the leader, steward and authority over His family or household. It further
emphasizes by Christ’s actions in His appointment that He, Jesus, having
received the throne of David by virtue of His Father is asserting His claim to
the throne of David and as the rightful successor as king of all of Judah and
Israel. He fulfills this by asserting the legal precedent necessary to fulfill
prophecy and appoints St. Peter as the steward over His kingdom. He is claiming
by this action what He came to do which was to establish a new and enduring
Covenant with His Kingdom. But was this Kingdom fully established at this time
or was it just a stepping stone to the establishing of His Kingdom in His
appointment of St. Peter in Matthew 16? Certainly, the time had not yet come
for the Prime Minister, St. Peter, to exercise the power of the keys for Christ
had not yet revealed His glory or made claim to His kingdom with the
establishment of the New Covenant. This would not happen until Calvary where
Jesus would from the cross drink of the cup of consummation from the hyssop
branch and then utter the words, “it is finished” after which He gave up His
Spirit and His glory was revealed. He would finish His redemptive work three
days later when He raised from the dead. Only then was all prophecy fulfilled
and the law satisfied. St. Peter was now endowed with the Authority of Christ
to be the royal steward over Christ’s kingdom. So great was this authority that
He had the authority to bind or loose on earth as well as in heaven and became
the spiritual father of Christ’s family. The keys represent the supremacy of
the power bestowed on St. Peter and he is fastened on a peg and carries the
weight of maintaining the King’s (Christ’s) house. So great are the parallels
between Eliakim and St. Peter that it is implausible to deny that Eliakim is a
type for St. Peter. The new kingdom is not a kingdom of land and of a people
but it is the establishment of a spiritual kingdom of God and not of men.
Keeping with the typology the office of Eliakim was an enduring office and so
too is the office that St. Peter to which he has been appointed. Only the prime
minister holds the keys of supreme authority and not only the first among
equals but the special and singular authority among the disciples and visible
head of the Church.
Let us look directly
at the parallels between Isaiah 22 and Matthew 16.
The prime minister in
David’s household had successors:
Isa 22:15, 1 Kings
4:6, & 18:3, 2 Kings 10:5, 15:5, 18:18
We see the full
authority given to the prime minister:
Isa 22:22, Mat 16:19,
Rev 3:7
Further teaching of
the authority of the prime minister:
Mat 24:45, Luk 12:42,
Gen 41:40, Gen 43:19
(Paul)
“You need to realize and understand its the Whole body of all the believers who
have received Salvation that is the True Church and the pillar of the Truth.
The Catholic Church is not the pillar nor does it have the Truth in it.”
(Cristoiglesia) It
seems as if you only acknowledge the invisible Church and that is an egregious
error. Here is an explanation of the Church:
The invisible Church
are those who have faith in our Lord but one cannot discern who are a part of
His invisible Church. However, Jesus and the disciples founded a visible Church
and we see the formation of that Church in the book of Acts. This Church is the
Catholic Church and is the self-same Church that Jesus prayed that we would all
be one within. Otherwise as professed Christians and not being obedient to His
Church would place us outside of His will, blessings, promises and grace; if
not fully but in great measure. Those outside of His will would be those that
some describe as "playing" at Christianity and not following Jesus.
There are some
outside of the visible Church which some call a "remnant" that are
not be on the path to the narrow gate but may be saved by God's mercy. These
are those who seek God but are deceived into being outside of His visible
Church by no fault of their own. While not a part of the visible Church they
can be considered a part of the invisible Church. So, Jesus and the disciples
formed a visible Church as we see after Pentecost recorded in the book of Acts
and it could be said that there are those known only to God who are a part of
that visible Church against their will or knowledge that will be received in
Glory to be a part of the Church Triumphant. But, as one can see in Scripture
this is not the ordinary way to be saved through His Church but as an
extraordinary example of His mercy.
The gates of hell
will never prevail against His visible Church because of the protection of the
Church by the Holy Spirit given at Pentecost. The Church is other worldly and
heavenly in its nature and is endowed with its holiness and veracity from its
founder Jesus. Jesus gave His promises to His visible Church so that the world
could see the testimony of His Church as the pillar and ground of the truth and
a shining city on a hill (Mat 5:14) It is the will of God that all should be
saved by and through His Church as it is the Church that was commissioned to
spread the Gospel throughout the world both corporeally and individually. The
Church is a refuge and the Ark from the sins and temptations of the world. It
is heaven on earth where Christ dwells in the Tabernacles and is worshipped. So
if the visible Church ceased to exist it would make Jesus a liar and a
pretender as the Messiah and Savior of the world because all of His promises
would be proven false.
Unity requires that
there be a knowledge and physical manifestation of that unity. That is the
Catholic Church which is the visible Church. The invisible Church does not
represent unity because it is known only to God which may be unified in faith
but not in purpose.
The purpose of the
Church is its testimony in spreading the "good news" to the world.
That requires a visible unity. The world will never know if those who are in
the invisible Church are preserved but the visible Church will always be the
witness to the world that it remains after empires and governments have fallen,
political ideologies have been born and died and false and counterfeit
religions have come and gone. It is a testimony that Jesus is God of the
Trinity and that His will be done on earth as well as in heaven regardless of
the snares of Satan and His lies against humanity.
(Paul)”
How can the Catholic Church be a pillar of Truth when it teaches the doctrines
of Satan as doctrines from God?”
(Cristoiglesia) It is
the Bible that claims the Church is the Pillar and foundation of the truth and
not just me. Are you claiming that the Bible teaches falsely? Jesus said of the
Church that it would endure for all times free from apostasy. Are you claiming
Jesus to be a liar?

(Paul)
“Lies taught about Mary by the Catholic Church.
1.
Immaculate conception of Mary.”
(Cristoiglesia) We
are all born with original sin which was caused by our original parents
bringing sin and death into the world. We have inherited that sin nature from
the original fall from grace.
As was prophesied in
the Old Testament a virgin will bear a son called Immanuel (Isaiah 7:14). That
Son is to become the Lamb of God and a replacement for the Paschal Lamb of
Passover which is emblematic of Christ as the feast of the New Covenant. This
prophecy is important in that it illustrates the necessity of the perfect
sacrifice. Not one of a perfection of the flesh as the Paschal Lamb refers but
the perfection of the soul which requires a divine nature as no human alone
could fulfill the perfection required by the Father but only the God-man in
Jesus. Being fully God, He could not dwell and be nurtured in a vessel
containing sin nor could the Lamb of God inherit the original sin of our original
parents. So, out of necessity and in preparation to the blessed mother’s
obedience she was saved by Christ at her conception. The blessed mother was in
such a state of grace before conceiving and nurturing the unborn Jesus that she
is described as being “full of Grace”. Of course being full of God’s grace
leaves no room for sin.
Now keep in mind that
some may argue that Jesus does not qualify as a type of the Paschal Lamb
because the Paschal Lamb was required to be without any physical blemish. Certainly
the wounds of Jesus by His scourging left Him as anything but a physically
unblemished sacrifice. It is significant to acknowledge that the Paschal Lamb
of the Passover saved one from physical death while Jesus being emblematic
saves one from the death of the soul into sin. Therefore, the Lamb of God had
the perfection of the soul necessary to atone for sin which causes spiritual
death.
Furthermore, while
the obedience of the Israelites at Passover instituted a special kinship of the
people as the family of God so too does the new kingdom instituted by Christ’s
atoning sacrifice institute a new kinship or Covenant signified by the fact
that we are to eat the Lamb in all its Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity just as
the Israelites had to eat the Lamb to be saved. Just like them it could not be
a symbolic Lamb but its real flesh consumed; so too are we to partake of the
reality of the feast provided by our Lord.
People may argue that
it is not possible for Christ to save the blessed mother at her conception as
the atoning sacrifice on the Cross has not yet occurred; this same argument by
critics of the Eucharist argue similarly. But the fact is that God dwells outside
of time where everything is in the eternal present without future or past. In
the Scriptures according to St. Johns account of Jesus’ Colloquy at Capernaum
in chapter 6 he said, “do this in remembrance of me” as translated into English
but this is often a misunderstanding as to what Jesus was really saying because
in English “remembrance means to recall a past event which is an approximation
of the Greek meaning since there is no corresponding English equivalent. .
However, the Koine Greek word used was “anamnesis” which has in its meaning an
expectation of a miracle which transcends time and place. So what was truly
being conveyed by Jesus’ words recorded by St. John is that the disciples truly
ate the sacrificed flesh and drank the spilt Blood of our Lord just as we do
today sharing in that one sacrifice presented by our Lord and shared by the
entire Church in all its glorious manifestations. Therefore His atoning
sacrifice provides for all humanity past, present and future.
(John)“2.
Perpetual Virginity of Mary.”
From a historical
standpoint, in regards to the perpetual virginity of the blessed mother, no one
believed that she had other children until the last two hundred years or so due
to widespread mistranslation of Scripture and the non-scriptural practice of Sola
Scriptura using improper hermeneutics.
When studying
Scriptures as a body of work, in context pointing towards the atonement of
humanity there is no other reasonable conclusion that one can come to other
than the fact that the blessed mother had no other children than Jesus. Also
the historical and the Biblical accounts confirm that the blessed mother was
forever virgin. St. Joseph was not chosen as a husband in the normal sense but
as the protector of the blessed mother's virginity. He was a much older man,
likely a widower, chosen by God for this purpose. Let us look at the verses in
question....
(Mat 12:46 DRB) As he
was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold his mother and his brethren stood
without, seeking to speak to him.
(Mat 12:47 DRB) And
one said unto him: Behold thy mother and thy brethren stand without, seeking
thee.
(Mat 12:48 DRB) But
he answering him that told him, said: Who is my mother, and who are my
brethren?
(Mat 12:49 DRB) And
stretching forth his hand towards his disciples, he said: Behold my mother and
my brethren.
(Mat 12:50 DRB) For
whosoever shall do the will of my Father, that is in heaven, he is my brother,
and sister, and mother.
The Greek noun used
here is adelphoi which means brother and it is spelled exactly the same way
both times it occurs in these Scriptures. One should note also that there is no
such thing in Koine Greek grammar as a familial form of adelphoi. Now it is
important to note that the language used here is in itself a translation from
Aramaic for adelphoi used in the familiar way. In Aramaic there is no word
which would distinguish ones biological brothers from other relatives such as
cousins or even step brothers or sisters. The more acceptable term in proper
translation would probably be something like brethren instead of brother. When
Christ spoke he also used the Aramaic equivalent to adelphoi in the Greek, in a
non-familiar sense when he said the following in verse 50, “he is my brother”.
As you can see with
proper exegesis there is nothing in these verses to support the theory that the
blessed mother was not forever virgin and that she had other children besides
Jesus. Please note that in all of Scriptures, no one is specifically called a
child of the blessed mother other than Jesus.
Please note the
following:
(Mat 1:20 DRB) But
while he thought on these things, behold the Angel of the Lord appeared to him
in his sleep, saying: Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy
wife, for that which is conceived in her, is of the Holy Ghost.
(Mat 1:21 DRB) And
she shall bring forth a son: and thou shalt call his name Jesus. For he shall
save his people from their sins.
(Mat 1:22 DRB) Now
all this was done that it might be fulfilled which the Lord spoke by the
prophet, saying:
(Mat 1:23 DRB) Behold
a virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a son, and they shall call his
name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
The blessed mother
was a virgin when she conceived and was a virgin after giving birth.
(Luk 1:26 DRB) And in
the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee,
called Nazareth,
(Luk 1:27 DRB) To a
virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David: and the
virgin's name was Mary.
(Luk 1:28 DRB) And
the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with
thee: blessed art thou among women.
(Luk 1:29 DRB) Who
having heard, was troubled at his saying and thought with herself what manner
of salutation this should be.
(Luk 1:30 DRB) And
the angel said to her: Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God.
(Luk 1:31 DRB) Behold
thou shalt conceive in thy womb and shalt bring forth a son: and thou shalt
call his name Jesus.
(Luk 1:32 DRB) He
shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God
shall give unto him the throne of David his father: and he shall reign in the
house of Jacob for ever.
(Luk 1:33 DRB) And of
his kingdom there shall be no end.
(Luk 1:34 DRB) And
Mary said to the angel: How shall this be done, because I know not man?
(Luk 1:35 DRB) And
the angel answering, said to her: The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee and the
power of the Most High shall overshadow thee. And therefore also the Holy which
shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
The verses preceding
show that she intended to remain a virgin when she said to the angel Gabriel,
“I know not man”. Please notice in the following verses in St. John’s account
of the crucifixion of the blessed mother being put into the care of St. John.
If she had other children and especially other male children the Jewish
tradition would be that she would have been cared for by them. Jesus knowing
the hardship of a childless widow placed her in good hands with St. John.
(Joh 19:26 DRB) When
Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he
saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son.
(Joh 19:27 DRB) After
that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the
disciple took her to his own.
Last of all there is
the difficulty of history and Sacred Tradition to overcome, which has always,
without exception, called her the Blessed Virgin.
(John)
“3. Mary as Mother of God.”
(Cristoiglesia) Are
you denying that Jesus is God? Certainly
the blessed mother bore the God-man Jesus. Isaiah actually refers to two
historical figures when he prophesizes of the coming of Immanuel. He foresees
the turmoil and the challenges of Israel because of their infidelity to God. He
is offering hope at a desperate time in history for the deliverance of Israel
out of Babylon. This is recorded in Isa 7:14 where a remnant will survive the
persecution and a Messiah will come to deliver them as their Lord and King. He
says that his name will be Emmanuel.
The first sign is the
birth of the son of Ahaz which will become the King Hezekiah which fulfills the
prophecy of Nathan and preserves the Davidic line which remains Israel’s hope.
But, there is obviously something more being spoken of in His prophecy than
just the historical facts of a delivering king of the people out of bondage.
There is more than the historical and here the symbolism takes on more
importance with the name Immanuel which means God among us. Beyond Hezekiah
there is the prophecy of a Messianic King that fulfills the epitome of the
Davidic dynasty and the hope if Israel in the man-God Jesus Christ. Isaiah
further explains this in Isa 9:6 where we learn that He will be born of a
virgin as the Church understands the Ark of the New Covenant and will be the
Anointed "Wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of
Peace" and surely the Christ. His virtues speak of His authority and
teaching but most of all to His obedience to God as the Savior of the world in
Isa 49.
In Isa 53:3-5"He
was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief,
and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him
not.
Surely he has borne
our griefs and carried our sorrows, yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by
God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised
for our' iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that made us whole, and with
his stripes we are healed" Reading this leaves all doubt as to Jesus being
the fulfillment of the Prophesies of Isaiah and confirms that Jesus was indeed
“God with us”.
(John)
“4. Veneration of Mary.”
“There are several
degrees of this worship:
if it is addressed
directly to God, it is superior, absolute, supreme worship, or worship of
adoration, or, according to the consecrated theological term, a worship of
latria. This sovereign worship is due to God alone; addressed to a creature it
would become idolatry. When worship is addressed only indirectly to God, that
is, when its object is the veneration of martyrs, of angels, or of saints, it
is a subordinate worship dependent on the first, and relative, in so far as it
honours the creatures of God for their peculiar relations with Him; it is
designated by theologians as the worship of dulia, a term denoting servitude,
and implying, when used to signify our worship of distinguished servants of
God, that their service to Him is their title to our veneration (cf. Chollet,
loc. cit., col. 2407, and Bouquillon, Tractatus de virtute religionis, I,
Bruges, 1880, 22 sq.). As the Blessed Virgin has a separate and absolutely
supereminent rank among the saints, the worship paid to her is called
hyperdulia (for the meaning and history of these terms see Suicer, Thesaurus
ecclesiasticus, 1728).”
I do not know why
some are opposed to this definition as it clearly states that the worship is
Christocentric but allow me to try to explain it further.
Throughout history
the Church has given special honor to the Blessed Mother. The definition is an
attempt to differentiate the differences in the way the blessed mother is
venerated and the other Saints with the adoration we as Catholics have for the
incarnate Word of God, the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Saints are revered
with “dulia” which is human reverence and devotion given because of their
intercession on behalf of us and is very similar to the reverence given to
friends who pray for us in times of need.
The mother of God receives
hyperdulia which is also human reverence and devotion but with a deeper respect
for her closeness to her son in intercession for our prayers. All prayer,
whether it comes from a saint or from the blessed mother on our behalf, is
totally and absolutely dependent on Christ.
What one should try
to understand is that Catholic devotion to the blessed mother does not take
away from our adoration of Christ but instead gives our adoration a better
focus. This is not like idol worship which changes one’s focus from the true
God but through imitation of her devotion we are focused on Him. Every saint by
their life spent in devotion and service to God gives us encouragement and
their prayers for us give us greater hope that we also will endure to final
salvation as their example exemplifies.
(John)”
5. Mary as co-redeemer and Mediatrix.”
(Cristoiglesia)” Protestants
object to this , saying that there is only one mediator: 1 Tim 2:5. We agree
that there are many ways in which Christ is the only mediator between God and
man. 1) There is only one mediator who is such by very nature, being both true
God and true man. 2) There is only one mediator whose whose work is necessary,
without whom, in God's plan, there could be no salvation. 3) There is only one
mediator who depends on no one else for power.
Mary differs on all
three counts. 1) Mary only a creature, but it was appropriate that God be
freely choose her as Mediatrix because he had made her Mother of the God-man,
the Redeemer--it was she who on behalf of the whole human race consented to
God's plan of salvation by proclaiming herself the handmaid of the Lord. 2) Her
role was not necessary, since Christ was and is the perfect Redeemer and the
perfect Mediator. Rather, Mary was associated with her Son by the free decision
of the Father, a decision which we cannot ignore. 3) Her whole ability to do
anything comes entirely from her Son, and hence we are not contradicting Lumen
gentium # 62 which says no creature can be ever counted together with Him.
Really, the Father
did not need her at all, except that if He decreed the incarnation, He
necessarily decreed a Mother: she was and is that Mother. But everything else
in which He has employed her is not needed.
Yet, if we recall the
economy of redemption, it is clear that the Father wants everything to be as
rich as possible, so that He will not stop with something lesser if there is
more than can be done. Really, the incarnation in a palace, without death, would
have been infinite in merit and satisfaction, as we have seen in the section on
her cooperation in the redemption.
Further, the
principle of St. Thomas helps here. In Summa Theologiae I. 19. 5. c., Thomas
says that it pleases God to have one thing in place to serve as a title or
reason for granting something further, even though that title does not move
Him. It is His love of all goodness and good order that leads Him to act this
way. Hence too, even though Calvary earned infinite forgiveness and graces, the
Father wills to provide titles for giving out these, in the Mass. Even though
He did not need even our Lady, yet He willed to employ her. Even though there
is no need of any other saints, in objective or subjective redemption, yet He
wills to add them--all to make everything, every title, as rich as possible.
Lumen gentium speaks
of her as taking care of all her children. We are extremely numerous, but yet
not infinite in number. Therefore, we are not too numerous for her to see and
care for. For her capacity for that infinite vision of God is in proportion to
her love on earth, so great that Pius IX, as we saw, said it was so great that
"none greater under God can be thought of, and no one but God can
comprehend it."
Is her mediation
merely by intercession, prayer for us to her Son and to God the Father? Or does
she also play a role in the distribution of graces from the Father through her
Son to us? Many today, influenced by Protestant theology, tend to speak of
grace merely as favor, and so say grace is not a thing given. But that would
imply Pelagianism, the heresy that says that we can be saved by our own power.
For if God merely sits there and smiles at me, and gives me nothing, that would
mean that I had to do it by my own power.
So we answer, since
Mary was associated with her Son in acquiring grace for us, she will also share
with him in distributing that grace to us. This fits well with the words of the
Popes, who call her the administra of grace, meaning that she administers or
dispenses it. So Pope Leo XIII, Iucunda semper, said:
"... when He
[the Father] has been invoked with excellent prayers, our humble voice turns to
Mary; in accordance with no other law than that law of conciliation and
petition which was expressed as follows by St. Bernardine of Siena : 'Every
grace that is communicated to this world has a threefold course. For by
excellent order, it is dispensed from God to Christ, from Christ to the Virgin,
from the Virgin to us.'" (Father William G. Most)
(John)
“6. Assumption of Mary.”
(Cristoiglesia) CCC 966
"Finally the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original
sin, when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and
soul into heavenly glory, and exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things, so
that she might be the more fully conformed to her Son, the Lord of lords and
conqueror of sin and death."508 The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin is a
singular participation in her Son's Resurrection and an anticipation of the
resurrection of other Christians:
In giving birth you kept your virginity; in
your Dormition you did not leave the world, O Mother of God, but were joined to
the source of Life. You conceived the living God and, by your prayers, will
deliver our souls from death.509
. . . she is our
Mother in the order of grace
967 By her complete
adherence to the Father's will, to his Son's redemptive work, and to every
prompting of the Holy Spirit, the Virgin Mary is the Church's model of faith
and charity. Thus she is a "preeminent and . . . wholly unique member of
the Church"; indeed, she is the "exemplary realization"
(typus)510 of the Church.
(John)
“Mary was born with a sin nature just like you and me. Mary was not sinless,
she was a sinner. The only person who was sinless was Jesus Christ. But yet the
Catholic Church has deceived you into believing she was sinless.”
(Cristoiglesia) All
Christians will agree that there is at least one person who never sinned and
that is our Lord and Savior. Being an exception means that there may be other
possibilities of exceptions although we can agree that the circumstances of our
Savior are unique being fully man and fully God. No other person future or past
can make such a claim. As you know the Bible says that the blessed mother is
"full" of God's grace at the Annunciation. We believe that God had
prepared her for that moment of saying yes to be the God bearer. The womb that
bore and nurtured our Lord is the Ark of the New Covenant which is Christ our
Lord. God cannot dwell within sin so the blessed mother was saved by God's grace
before she was even conceived in the womb immaculately. She was in need of a
Savior as we all are and our Lord provided for her salvation and indeed her
sanctity even before her conception. Being and remaining full of grace means
that the blessed mother of God never sinned but would have been tempted to sin
as the new Eve just as the original Eve was tempted. But just as her Son
withstood temptation, her grace was so great that she was able to overcome all
temptation.
Just for the record,
the Bible also says that St. John the Baptist was saved from original sin but
he was saved at birth and not conception. The blessed mother was unique in her
immaculate conception.
(John)“Mary
had other children after Jesus. There are many Scriptures talking about the
other children of Mary. But yet the Catholic Church has deceived you into
believing she had no other children.”
(Cristoiglesia) From
a historical standpoint, in regards to the perpetual virginity of the blessed
mother, no one believed that she had other children until the last two hundred
years or so due to widespread mistranslation of Scripture and the
non-scriptural practice of Sola Scriptura using improper hermeneutics.
(John)
Mary is not the Mother of God because it was the human body that Jesus used
that Mary gave birth to, not God. But yet the Catholic Church has deceived you
into believing Mary is the Mother of the Trinity.
(Cristoiglesia)It
seems that you are flirting with the heresy of Modalism. But , in any case,
Jesus is God and the blessed mother is His mother. The Church has NEVER taught
that she is the mother of the Trinity. I have no idea where you got such
nonsense. Jesus is God.
(John)“Neither
Jesus, nor the Disciples, nor Paul, nor any other biblical writer ever exalted
Mary the way you Catholics do, But yet the Catholic Church has deceived you
into believing the Veneration of Mary.”
(Cristoiglesia) The
angel of the Lord named Gabriel came to her and called her full of God’s grace.
He addressed her sinless nature by saying she was full of God’s grace which
indeed exalted her. Furthermore God the Father chose her from among all women
of all time to bear the God-man Immanuel. Indeed even Jesus exalted her at the wedding
of Cana by responding to her request. So, we Catholics are in good company venerating
the mother of God.
(John)”1
Timothy 2:5
5
For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus
Jesus
Christ is our only Mediator between us and God. God clearly says there is only
one Mediator and He is Jesus Christ, not Jesus and Mary. Mary is not helping
Jesus she never was a Mediatrix. But yet the Catholic Church has deceived you
into believing Mary is a co-redeemer and Mediatrix.”
(Cristoiglesia)Correct
there is one Mediator which is Christ but there can be many intercessors. We
are intercessors when we pray for one another and often the blessed mother is
asked to be our prayer partner. Co-redeemer refers to her cooperation saying
yes to God in bearing Christ in her consecrated womb.
Letter

(John)
“There is virtually no Scriptural support for the doctrine that Mary was bodily
assumed into Heaven at the end of her earthly life. In fact Catholic theologian
Ludwig Ott admits that "direct and express Scriptural proofs are not to be
had". But yet the Catholic Church has deceived you into believing Mary was
assumed into Heaven.”
(Cristoiglesia) Ron
Rhodes is incorrect with his prejudiced commentary in that he makes the
assumption that all teaching of Jesus and the Church is in the Bible or that
for veracity that it must be written in the Bible. The Bible itself disagrees
saying that only a part of the teaching of Jesus is written down. St. Paul instructed
the Church, the Catholic Church, to hold fast to all of the Sacred Traditions
both written and oral. In fact the Church for 500 years had no canon of
Scriptures but relied almost entirely on the oral tradition.
(John)
“Also included in the lies about Mary are the "Alleged Apparitions of
Mary". There is not a single genuine appearance of Mary because God
clearly states in the bible that contact with the dead in any form is forbidden
by God. Deuteronomy 18:11. But yet the Catholic Church has deceived you into
believing Mary has appeared on the earth many times.”
(Cristoiglesia) The
Bible is speaking of necromancy which is communication with the dead in Christ.
It is not a prohibition against those that are alive in Christ in heaven which
is the Church Triumphant. Are you trying to allege that the blessed mother of God
was not saved and is not in heaven?
(John)
“So who are you listening to? Is it the Holy Spirit? Is it the very Word of God
the Bible? Or could it be you are listening to what Satan says?”
(Cristoiglesia) I do
not listen to Satan. As with all Catholics I listen to God, the Church and the
Bible in that order of authority.
(John)”
I truly believe you are being deceived by Satan to follow his Church instead of
following the True Church which is the body of all the True Christians in the
World.”
(Cristoiglesia) I am
not only a part of the invisible Church that you describe but also the visible Church
that Jesus founded on earth, the Catholic Church, to which He gave all
authority.
(John)”
Its a shame you refuse to listen to the Truth in the Bible that is from the
Holy Spirit. The bible is our only source of the Truth from God. You cannot put
your oral traditions over the Word of God. What God has said in the Bible has
more authority then your oral traditions. Why? Because the oral traditions you
teach are from Satan and not from God.”
(Cristoiglesia) Nonsense!
I was outside of the Church for 50 years as an evangelical Protestant
(Moravian). I was an anti-Catholic just like you although better trained. I was
and am very deep in Scriptures. I looked
deeply and critically at the Church and saw that not only does the Church teach
the fullness of truth but does so in perfect accordance with Scriptures.
You were told
correctly that the Bible is not the only source of truth and the Bible confirms
this fact. St. Paul said to hold fast to not only the written Word but also to
the Sacred Traditions which are taught orally. Other than the Old Testament
(Septuagint) there was no written Word for the first 500 years of the Church.
All of the Word was transmitted orally. When the Protestant rebellion started
the protestors rejected the fullness of God’s Word for the heresy of Sola
Scriptura. This heresy is responsible of the lack of unity in the Corpus
Christi with over 30,000 different sects calling themselves Christian each with
some truth and teaching countless heresies.
Well John, it was the
Church that had the authority to decide that the Scriptures were inspired. We
wrote them (NT) and canonized them. The whole New Testament is about the
Catholic Church. Just as the Holy Spirit guided the Church to exercise this God
given authority it guided the Church to all truth just as is recorded in
Scriptures. The Holy Spirit was given to the Church which Jesus promised would
endure for all times and it has testifying to Jesus’ veracity. It is the Church
that has all authority for teaching and truth and not the book that we wrote
and canonized. Just like the Bible which gets its authority from the Church so
to do the doctrines of the Church get their authority from the same source
given by Christ to the Church. So Ernie, what I have found is that biblical
deception is only found outside of His Church and not within the teaching of
the Church. God bless!
In Christ
Fr. Joseph
This is great!
